There are around 5,000 different plants within the walled garden, with glasshouses containing exotic species, an alpine garden, woodland plants and more. Daquise opened in 1947, making it the oldest Polish restaurant in London. Daquise has a fascinating history. The restaurant was not only a favourite of Cold War-era personalities such as model Christine Keeler, but also the unofficial headquarters of exiled Polish president Edward Raczyński.
