The Best Hotels to Book on La Digue, Seychelles, for Every Traveller
Spa retreats and storied national monuments next to Anse Source d’Argent Beach are just some of the places to stay on this island in the Seychelles.
It takes a 20-minute boat ride or a five-minute helicopter hop from Praslin to reach the pristine little island of La Digue, with its photogenic pale beaches fringed with palms and giant granite boulders primed to catch the pink sunset light. Home to fishermen, paradise flycatchers, vanilla vines and Anse Source d’Argent – the most revered beach in the Seychelles – it also lays on a selection of idyllic hotels. Here’s our pick of the best hotels in La Digue, bookable on Culture Trip.
Le Repaire
Hotel
For one of the best boutique hotels in Seychelles history, try this relaxed little beachfront spot, five minutes from the centre of La Passe fishing village. It gives you the option of not only unwinding on the beach or by two small pools but also of strolling among colonial-style buildings and cycling or paddling around the island (with bikes and kayaks supplied). It’s family-friendly, too. So, you and your gang can eat at the hotel’s Italian restaurant – for child-proof faves such as pizza and pasta, as well as red snapper – or hit the local cafes for authentic Seychellois flavour.
La Digue Island Lodge
Hotel
Those in search of island charm should stay in a little A-frame chalet at La Digue Island Lodge, or the main bright-yellow colonial house, a national monument dating back to 1900, where the guest rooms have spiral staircases down to their bathrooms. The hotel is right next to Anse Source d’Argent Beach and only an eight-minute walk to Veuve Nature Reserve – one of the last refuges of the black paradise flycatcher, known to locals as the veuve (which means “widow”).
Le Relax Luxury Lodge
Hotel
Fancy an intimate getaway? There are just six chalets at this stylish lodge that sits on a forested hillside above the white sands and glittering waters of Anse Gaulette Beach – your private slice of paradise. Dine by candlelight at the restaurant above, or in the privacy of your chalet on some of the best Creole and Indian food on the island. Then, retire to a plush four-poster bed, listening to the whisper of ocean waves.
Cocotier Du Rocher
Hotel
For those after a central stay to explore the best of the island, this family-run guest house is set in a tropical garden in La Passe village. Your self-catering cabin is just a five-minute cycle from the jetty, and 12 minutes from Anse Source d’Argent Beach and the L’Union Estate, where you can visit a plantation house, coconut-oil mill and vanilla plantations, and see giant tortoises. Cocotier staff will direct you to the best cafes for authentic fare.
Villa Authentique
Hotel
Fishing and snorkelling enthusiasts need to look no further. Here, your garden villa is within a two-minute walk of the jetty and the beach. The Authentique will provide you with its own powerboat for a full- or half-day fishing trip. And, the Creole crew can also take you to lesser-known parts of La Digue and neighbouring islands, supply snorkelling equipment and even set up a barbeque on the beach.
Le Nautique
Hotel
Looking for a home from home? Owners Natasha and Stuart welcome you like family at this luxurious waterfront hotel that combines traditional Creole architecture with contemporary comforts, from the hand-hewn king-size beds and fine linens to walk-in rain showers. The hotel sits on the site of Natasha’s family home, and she can share fascinating local stories – and homespun recipes, too. The outdoor restaurant specialises in Creole dishes and fresh seafood.
Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie Resort & Spa
Hotel
There’s a Zen-like calm to these natural stone-walled villas, set in a tropical garden above sapphire waters and silky sands. But there’s more: the resort’s Eden Rock Spa has its own range of products using ylang-ylang and vanilla from the islands. Ask for the Memorable Beginnings treatment: a steam bath followed by a whirlpool dip, exotic body polish and a massage that ends with champagne, canapés, chocolates and fresh fruit.

We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way.
